Drive east on US 20/395 11 miles and turn south on the Double 0 County Road. In about 20 miles the road comes to an unmarked T. Go west, immediately en- tering the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. After 4.5 miles continue west through a gate onto BLM land. At 0.8 mile west of the gate, take the left (south- westerly) fork up and over the ridge. After 0.7 mile take southwesterly fork. After 2.7 miles take the northwesterly (north) fork. Go about 1 mile and park on public land (through the fence). This route may not be passable at times of high water.

It is 0.6 mile to summit, though nearly 1,200 feet in elevation gain. Take your time. The views are worth it.

If you see others in this area, in all likelihood it is best they not interact with you. Tactfully and tactically withdraw.
