The fate of the Oregon Desert is in the hands of politicians. A disturbing thought until we remember that all politicians want to be loved, and love voters who vote for them. A good majority of Oregon voters (if you don't vote, you don't count) love wilderness and want more of it preserved. If this love of wilderness is translated to votes for politicians who save wilderness, then Oregon's desert wilderness can be saved. If not, it will be lost.
